Advanced Analytics

You can only improve on what you can measure!

As the widely-recognized global leader in surgical robotic simulation and training, Mimic has developed a family of products that can train novices, experienced surgeons, and supporting OR staff alike.

MScore®

Mimic’s Proficiency-Based Scoring is the standard for robotics simulation.

Mimic’s scoring system was derived from the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS)* scoring system that was developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). Therefore, many surgeons will be familiar with the concept that it is more important to pass ALL critical metrics rather than achieve a single numerical score. The primary advantage of simulation training is the ability to capture objective measurements across a comprehensive set of metrics. With MScore, surgeons and educators can instantly understand how a trainee’s performance compares to experts and where additional training focus is required.

MScore Portal

Visibility into your data anytime, anywhere.

Think of the MScore Portal™ as a surgeon’s digital resume for robotics. The MScore Portal™ is a secure web-based compilation of data dashboards, reports and videos that allows access to your data from any internet-connected device, even your smartphone. Regardless of where simulation training takes place, the data is uploaded to the cloud and aggregated (at the surgeon or institution’s discretion)**. Login profiles can be set up for individual simulation users to view their own data, or institution administrators to view the data from their entire organization. Online dashboards provide performance results and curriculum progression, simulator usage data, and comparative plots (both within the institution and to world-wide aggregations).

Custom Reporting

Superior analysis tailored specifically to the customer’s needs

Mimic offers advanced analytics using state-of-the art data visualization and reporting software. Mimic will work closely with institutions and organizations to determine the needs and goals of their program, offer insights into best practices based on Mimic’s 17+ years’ experience in the industry, and then develop customized reports that are delivered on a routine basis. Tracking simulator usage over time and across platforms can help institutions to maximize the return on their investment in simulation, optimize training sessions and course offerings, and correlate other institution measurements (such as trends in OR metrics) to simulation performance. **Note: Mimic’s synchronization application, which automates data upload to the cloud, is currently not available on Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci® Skills Simulators. Data from the dVSS must first be off-loaded from the backpack following Intuitive Surgical’s instructions, and then uploaded separately from an app within Mimic’s MScore Portal.)
